Addis creates 87,000 jobs

The Addis Ababa city has created about 87,000 new jobs for unemployed residents in the city during this budget year, Addis Ababa small and micro enterprises development bureau announced.   

Head of the bureau, Leulseged Yeferu told WMC that about 87,000 unemployed youths and women found in 117 wereda became beneficiaries of the  job creation  activities.    

According to Lelulseged, the  bureau has created jobs   for   youths and women   in manufacturing , construction , trade, service , urban agriculture , metal and wood works  using the  youth  revolving  fund allocated by the  federal government.     

Luelseged noted that youths graduated from different universities, technical and vocational training institute and uneducated jobless youths were parts of the job creation  program.     

The Addis Ababa city administration is providing loan, marketing and  working areas  for  free to youths  organized  to engaged  indifferent  sectors ,  he indicated.  Most of the youths are involved in the   public participatory development the activities, he underlined.
