Doing business will be easy in Ethiopia – PM Abiy

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) said his government will work at its best capacity to make doing business in Ethiopia easy for investors.

The PM made this remark today at World Economic Forum held in Switzerland, Davos, where world leaders and global business CEOs gathered from around the world.

He said that his government has given a great emphasis to private sector to be an integral part of the country’s economy with a public private partnership remained enjoying harmonious relationship.

Once the private sector takes hold in the economy, he said that the government will primarily engage in social service development, he added.

The PM said that the government has decided to liberalize sate owned companies including telecom, aviation, railway and industrial parks to multinational companies, a move appreciated by World Bank.

Economic integration of east Africa is a priority for Ethiopia that Ethiopia don’t olny see from economic perspective but from peace and cooperation dimensions; he said, adding that the need for host of African Union, Ethiopia to act as a model.

He also said that Ethiopia is now finalizing processes to accede to the World Trade Organization.
