Oromia aspires to plant more seedlings today than the national plan

The Oromia Regional State has planned to plant 250 million seedlings today, more than the plan to plant throughout the country today, which is about 200 million.

The Region has mobilized people in all corners including higher officials to plant seedlings both in urban and rural areas.

Deputy Chief Administrator of the Regional State, Shimelis Abdissa, has indicated that about 1.2 billion tree and 1.2 billion coffee seedlings are so far planted in the region.

Regional Agricultural Development and Natural Resource Bureau head, Daba Debelle, today indicated that people in all areas of the region are making concerted participation in the national campaign.

He also indicated that relentless effort is being made to stave off possible shortage of seedlings in some areas to make the plan for the day a reality.

“Investors in the region are providing additional support to the campaign by supplying transport vehicles in different areas,” he added.
