Addis Ababa, 30 November,2015(WIC)- The Addis Ababa university has enrolled more than 17,000 student in the masters and PhD programs this year.
External relations cooperation and communication office Director with the University, Dr Zenebe Beyene, told WIC that focus of the university to the post graduate programs has increased from time to time and has received more players this year than ever.
Addis Ababa University has graduated 230,000 students in the last 65 years period, said Dr Zenebe. The University has produced thousands of intellectuals and researchers able to benefit the society in different sectors, he noted.
Currently the University has started to enhance research activities that target the community services, Dr Zenebe said. The university has planned to work more in collaboration with the media outlets, he added.
Dr Zenebe noted also that Addis Ababa University has enormously contributed for the development of higher learning institutions in Ethiopia in the last 65 years. It has also played a significant role for the expansion of higher learning institutions throughout the country, he underscored.
The university now has a total enrollment capacity of 52 thousand students under its various streams of studies, Walta learnt.
