Oromia higher officials decide to meet off working hours

Addis Ababa, 01 December, 2015(WIC) – In line with the government’s decisions to fill administrative loopholes during the second Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP II) period, higher officials at all levels of the leadership ladder of the Oromia Regional State have decided to conduct their meetings off working hours.

The decision, which is made official at a forum of consultation with the public of the region attended by the President, Muktar Kedir is aimed at serving the public to the needed level on working hours and conduct meetings of officials after working hours, mainly in the evening.

The president and Mayor of the region’s capital have vowed to abate the multiple features of rent seeking and corruption raised by the forum participants in the coming years of the growth and transformation plan.
