The South Nations, Nationalities, People’s Region (SNNPR) has undertaken consultation with different members of the people on the occasion of the eve of celebration of the victory of Ginbot 20(May 28), regional government communication affairs office said.
The document presented for discussion has shown the current state of Ethiopia in general and the region in particular as compared to the previous regimes.
The celebration shall be an opportunity to strengthen the performance phase the recently undertaken deep reform and it is scheduled to be commemorated from kebele to regional level via different events.
Ginbot 20 is the foundation for the establishment of strong unity in diversity, protection of democratic and human rights of nations and nationalities, creation of market based economy and achievement of sustainable development in the country during the last decades.
The day is a moment where Ethiopia started a new journey on to equality and equity for all people from the long past of discrimination and inequality, the office noted.
The 26th anniversary of Ginbot 20 should be a moment to foster the performance of the deep reform and achievements made so far in all sectors of the political economy of the country and ensure equitable benefits for all.
The day is scheduled to be commemorated via panel discussions, sanitation and beautification of urban areas, and sport competitions.
