House of Federation offers training for media practitioners

The House of Federation offered training on fiscal federalism and the role and mandate of the House for media practitioners drawn from regions and Addis Ababa.

The training which lasted for a day ponders on the budget breakdown and revenue collection of the federal government and specific role of the Federation in a bid to help media people get a better understating of what these issues really mean in doing job.

Experts from the Federation briefed the practitioners in these two topics.

Presenting the role and mandate the federation, Federation legal advisor, Woldu Merne said that interpreting the constitution, deciding on questions of identity and producing a resolution when conflicts broke out among the regions are the major duties of the federation.

He said that federation has so far worked out on the disputed topics in the country and is with issues still at its hand for decisions.

According to him, the federation also works closely with House of Peoples representatives in many areas.
