PM Abiy receives AUC Chairperson

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has received Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat at his office this morning to discuss the organizing of the upcoming AU summit.  

The 32nd Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union will be held on 10 – 11 February 2019 under the theme “Refugees, Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons: Towards Durable Solutions to Forced Displacement in Africa”.

As host country to the AU, Ethiopia is ready to carry out its responsibilities.

According to Office of the Prime Minister, the two parties discussed ways in which the Summit can be carried out in a different way from the norm.

Besides, they also agreed the agenda for the Summit will sufficiently address how AU reforms can impact the lives of Africans in meaningful ways.

PM Dr Abiy Ahmed and Moussa Faki also discussed the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, it was noted.
