The Lucy for peace and love tour program has been launched today at a ceremony held in the House of People’s Representatives (HPR).
Representatives of political parties, religious leaders and senior government officials, including Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives, Tagesse Chafo, and Minister of Culture and Tourism, Dr Hirut Kassaw attended the event.
Tagesse on the occasion said “the aim of the tour is to strengthen our unity.”
According to him, Lucy will start its journey by travelling to Afar regional state today.
Dr Hirut for her part said the tour will also help to promote Ethiopia’s image to the rest of the world.
Lucy for Peace and Love tour will be carried out in all the nine regional states and Dire Dawa city administration to convey messages of love and peace.
It will also take place in Kenya, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, and Uganda
