Ministry holds consultative meeting with donors to rehabilitate displaced people

The Ministry health has met with representatives of international donors to discuss on ways for the sustainable rehabilitation and resettlement of displaced people in the country.

The issue of rehabilitation of displaced people in different corners of the corners of the country is high on the agenda of the forum attended by UN agency representatives, humanitarian and development organizations, governmental and non-governmental organizations.

About 650-700 million US dollars is required to resettle the displaced people, according to the Ministry.

Efforts are underway together with local investors to rehabilitate the displaced community and around 800 million birr is allocated by the government for this purpose.

The rehabilitation is scheduled to be conducted in three phases and 800,000 people will return to their villages in the first phase that will take one month.
