Attorney General says imminent massive attack aborted

The Federal Attorney General Birhanu Tsegaye told a press conference today that an imminent “massive attack”, which targets venues of public gatherings and meeting halls, has been aborted.

According to him, had the attack been successful, there would have been massive loss.

He also announced massive arrest of officials accused of corruption.

Office of Attorney General cooperated with Federal Police to arrest more 60 government officials, whom they said were responsible for swindling of huge public money.

The suspects were leaders of more than three government institutions.

However, the identity and number of suspects are not yet clear.
