The council of the Oromo Democratic Party (ADP) today elected Shimelis Abdisa as deputy president of the Oromia regional state.
Shimelis, who was serving as head of Prime Minister Office, is replacing president Lemma Megersa, who earlier today appointed as minister of National Defense.
Though appointed as deputy, he will do tasks that fall under the jurisdiction of the president.
