Foreign Affairs Minister masses diplomatic corps for iftar dinner

Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Gedu Andargachew yesterday hosted an Iftar dinner for Addis Ababa-based diplomatic corps and Ulama to mark the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

Stating that Ramadan is major holiday in Ethiopia and Muslims around the world, Gedu said “I believe that this would facilitate condition to work together and strengthen our relations.”

Ethiopia’s young generation is striving to eradicate poverty, build democracy, and ensure respect for human rights, he told the participants

Director General of Tourism Ethiopia, Lensa Mekonnen, for her part said “Ethiopia is a global model of tolerance and the event is part of giving recognition to this norm.”

She finally invited participants of the event to visits Ethiopia’s cultural, religious, natural and man-made heritages and tourist sights
