Colombia to open embassy in Ethiopia

South American country, Colombia announced today that it will open embassy in Ethiopian making it the 7th embassy in Africa.

Europe, America, Asia and plenipotentiary Affairs Ambassador with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Ambassador Mahilet Hailu held discussions with preconditions to open embassy with Africa, Asia and Oceania director with ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, Ramos Gonzalez.

Ambassador Mahilet said that the two countries have historical relation in that Colombia’s decision to open embassy in Ethiopia is the right one as many global and regional organization including African Union and Economic Commission for Africa of UN headquartered in Addis Ababa.

Ambassador Mahilet said that the two countries have historical ties.

The Director also said that as Ethiopia is a headquarter of regional and international organization including African Union and Economic Commission for UN, opening embassy will have great importance for Colombia.

Ethiopia used to follow its relation with Colombia with its embassy from Brazil.
