House Speaker meets with his UAE counterpart

 Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives, Tagesse Chafo, has today met with his UAE counterpart, Amal Al-Qubeysi, and discussed various bilateral issues.

He met her on his visit to the UAE and the two discussed options to elevate ties between the two countries to new heights and other regional and international matters.

 Amal indicated her country’s desire to further strengthen ties with Ethiopia and the Houses of both countries.

She appreciated the overall reform in Ethiopia, specifically the effort to empower women and give them higher responsibilities than before.

 “Ethiopia’s effort to create peace and stability in neighboring countries is indicative of the commendable capability of its leadership.” She said.

 Tagesse on his part stressed on the need to expand Ethiopia’s historic ties to the Middle East countries.

He noted that the Ethiopian government is working to improve the livelihoods of its citizens and empower and bring more women to the leadership ladder.

 He also raised Ethiopia’s role in cementing peace in the neighboring countries including Eritrea.

Tagesse also is expected to meet with leaders of Development Fund of Abu Dhabi and Red Crescent Organization.
