The Amhara region council today approved 47.4 billion birr for this year, Amhara Mass Media Agency reported.
The Region’s Finance and Economic Cooperation head, Tilahun Mehari (PhD) proposed the budget for the execution of this budget year, and briefed the council.
The budget is surged by 3.8 billion birr from last year.
It was learnt that the budget will allocated to new projects, finalized projects failed in the Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP), poverty reduction sectors and to create jobs, among others.
The head urged that the budget should be spent for the set purpose.
