Research conducted on the quests for new administrative regional states in SNNPR unveils findings

A research team led by the ruling party of the South Nations, Nationalities and People’s Regional State, SEPDM, has unveiled its findings on questions for new independent administrative states in the region.

The research team, comprising 20 members, has conducted the study during the last nine months, as it stated during the press conference yesterday.

They collected information from more than 17,000 people in all zones of the regional state, except one, while conducting the study.

The SNNPR has received various quests for independent regional states and self-determination during the last few months.

Administrative structure put in place in 1987 E.C, advantages the residents gained from it, as well as the causes for demands of new statehood status, were among the focuses of the research.

Majority of residents in the regional state are in favor of the regional state to continue as it is now, the study noted.
