Ministry prepares road map to ensure access, quality of education

 

The Ministry of Education announced that it has been preparing a road map to ensure quality and access of education in the country. 

Minister Shiferaw Teklemariam told ENA that the  road map encompasses from kindergarten to higher education levels.

The road map will, according to him, review the success and gaps of the education sector and show how the coming 15 years education and training should look like.

The minster also said that evaluation the country’s performance so far to craft the education system is vital. The road map, which will focus on the quality and access of the education will improve existing  55 percent access of the grade nine and ten by 19 percent to reach 74 percent by the end of GTPII, according to him.

The road map will be depicting the history of people of Ethiopia, he said.

He said that it has been difficult to prepare textbooks as there were well organized documents about the history of the people.

According to him, new textbooks for grade nine and ten will be available next year.

He also noted that the document be finalized by 2024/2025.
