Ethiopia partakes in the Inauguration Ceremony of Africa-China Vocational Education Alliance

Ethiopian Consulate General in Chongqing, National Coordinator of East Africa Skills Transformation and Regional Integration Project (EASTRIP), Ministry of Education of Ethiopia, General Wingate Polytechnic College, and Holeta TVET Polytechnic College attended the inauguration ceremony of China (Chongqing) Vocational Education Alliance in Chongqing City.

The alliance is devoted to applying Chinese expertise in technical and vocational education working with African countries.

During the inauguration ceremony, the Consul General of Ethiopia in Chongqing, Anteneh Tariku, said the launching of the alliance is the right response to the current need of Africa.

The alliance is a work of benevolence and the first-rate gesture of China out of its numerous global responsibilities, the Council General added.

He also highlighted that people trained in technical and vocational areas are indispensable for building the Ethiopian economy.

The alliance already has various successful projects in African countries, including Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, urrently, there are 7 World Bank-financed, flagship projects in different parts of Ethiopia.
