AU Proves Beliefs of “African Solutions to African Problem” – DPM Demeke

Addis Ababa, February 15, 2023 (Walta) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen said AU proved the beliefs of “African Solutions to African Problem” that the AU played historical role in brokering peace deal between Ethiopian government and TPLF.

The 42th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union kicked off today at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa in the presence of Foreign Minister of members states.

DPM and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Demeke addressed opening of the Ordinary Session of the Executive Council.

In his opening speech, he guaranteed that Ethiopia is determined to increase efforts to the implementation of the Pretoria Agreement.

According to MFA, Demeke also stated that this year’s session comes at important historical junction for Ethiopia.

This year executive council session is the special significance for Ethiopia as it comes as the country continued to making progress in implementing the peace agreement signed in Pretoria on 2 November 2022, he added.
