UN Promises to Support Efforts Benefiting Women in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, July 23, 2024 (Addis Walta) The United Nation Deputy Secretary General, Amina Mohamed, said that the UN is committed to support all efforts improving equal beneficiary and women’s participation in Ethiopia.

She pointed out that the efforts geared towards increasing the participation of women in various sectors and levels of responsibility are encouraging.

A discussion on empowering gender equality in all sectors is taking place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Speaking at the conference, the Deputy Secretary General appreciated Ethiopia’s efforts to ensure gender equality and fair benefit for women in the country.

Amina Mohamed also stated that there are promising beginning in education coverage and access, health services, job creation and other fields.

The Deputy Secretary General assured UN’s continued support towards women’s participation and equal benefiting.

Ethiopian Minister of Social and Women Affairs, Ergoge Tesfaye (Ph.D.), underscored the government’s commitment to strengthen equal participation of women and becoming beneficiary in all level of leadership, per ENA.
