Addis Ababa, December 30, 2022 (Walta) – Ethiopian National Disaster and Risk Management Commission announced that the Second round humanitarian aid to the needy population in war ravaged regions of Tigray, Amhara and Afar is started.
National Disaster and Risk Management Commissioner Dr. Sheferaw Tekelemariam pointed out that, on the first round humanitarian aid a total of 141, 671 MT of food is delivered to the regions of Tigray, Amhara and Afar.
In the second round, the commission is distributing 24 thousand 960 MT to Tigray Region, 1 thousand 887 to Amhara Region and 1 thousand 387 MT to Afar Region up to this date, the commissioner disclosed.
The second round aid dispatch is being carried out through the four corridors by land and air.
Effort is underway to oversee the restoration and rebuilding works by the committee of ministers.
