The Afar Regional State said that it is building several infrastructures ahead of the 12th Nations and Nationalities Day the region is set to host after three months.
Among the infrastructure development projects, which are being constructed in the region’s capital , Semera, five projects are built by the region.
The Region’s 12th Nations and Nationalities Day Coordination Committee head, Mohammed Awel Abdurahiman, told WMC that projects, which are underway for the celebration will significantly improve access to the people to infrastructures of many kinds.
The five projects, which have been under construction with the region’s capacity are, according to him, two roads, a stadium, a guest house and meeting hall.
He said that the federal government has also owned projects including the Semera airport, which will be finalized before of the day.
Hotel construction projects owned by private investors also are well in progress though it was not as planned, he added.
According to him, the committee is working in close collaboration and communication with the federal government and the house of federation on ways to host the guests of the day and make their sojourn joyful.
Harar city was the host for the 11th Nations and Nationalities Day.
