Addis residents vow to continue support to GERD

Residents of Addis Ababa city have said that they will continue support they already started to the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

Residents who spoke to Walta TV said that the Dam is the great project that mobilized the whole people of the country and as such it will go down in history as big historic chapter.

Demis Birhane, a resident of Addis Ababa told Walta TV that the support he gave to the dam so far is not enough. He said that he will continue contributing to the dam until it becomes finalized.

Lule Bililign, another resident is also in view of Dimes.

Merima Kedir, who also lives in Addis Ababa, said that the dam will help Ethiopian to energetically march towards becoming developed country.

The 4 billion USD worth dam, which started seven years ago after an Italian company, Salini won the construction bid is now 64 percent complete.
