National macro-economy high on Adis Weg discussion forum

Adis Weg, a discussion forum commenced by the Prime Minister’s Office, has today discussed national macro-economic matters under the theme, “foundations and directions for economic reform.”

Senior advisor to the Finance Minister, Biruk Taye, has delivered economic reforms undertaken during the last 17 months.

Inflation, foreign exchange shortage, debt repayment policies, bottlenecks within the trade and business sector, privatization are among the issues that the reform during the stated period has focused on.

According to the report, the reform tasks so far have enabled the government to get debt relief period, finalize delayed government projects and amend some laws related to the economy.

Other speakers of the forum also have touched up on finance supply challenges, and opportunities, participation of women in social enterprises, loan delivery and other related matters.

The forum has been previously gathering professionals’ academics and experts, politicians and others to discuss various political and social matters.
