EPRDF, CPC joint cooperation getting strengthened: PM Meles

Addis Ababa, November 10 (WIC) – Ethiopian Peoples Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) Chairperson Meles Zenawi said joint cooperation between the EPRDF and the Communist Party of China (CPC) is getting strengthened.

While holding talks with a Chinese high level delegation led by Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC, Liu Yunshan, here on Wednesday Meles said the relation between the two parties has been growing from time to time.

Meles said EPRDF appreciates activities of the Chinese Communist Party to ensure the benefits of the African continent in the international fora.

He also urged China in particular to further strengthen investment in Africa as the Chinese investment takes into consideration the benefits of the continent.

The Delegation Head on his part said the relation between EPRDF and CPC is exemplary to other African countries.

The present visit of the delegation to Ethiopia indicates enhanced relation between the two parties.

The two parties lead countries, which are registering rapid economic growth, Liu Yunshan said, adding, they are striving to make sustainable the ongoing rapid development of the countries.

According to Executive Committee Member and Head of EPRDF Secretariat, Redwan Hussien, the two parties on the occasion have reached agreement to share experiences and take common position on global issues such as climate change. (ENA)
