Council of EPRDF to hold its regular meeting

Addis Ababa, September 14, 2012 (WIC) – The Council of the Ethiopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) would hold its regular session on September 14 and 15, 2012, the party’s Secretariat announced on Thursday.

The Council is expected to look into a review document of the Growth and Transformation Plan by the EPRDF Executive Committee and pass decisions. In addition, it would deliberate on the 2005 E.C. party and political works and forward direction.

As per the statement sent to ERTA by the EPRDF Secretariat, the Council would assess a document prepared on the building of the Party’s leadership to reinforce its work on the Ethiopian Renaissance as initiated by its great leader, the late Prime Minister Meles Zenawi.

According to ERTA, the Council is also expected to nominate chairperson in substitution of the late Prime Minster and deputy chairperson of the party.

The Council of EPRDF has 180 members equally represented by the four member parties.
