Council says activities underway to establish efficient system

Addis Ababa, December 10 (WIC) – The Addis Ababa City Administration Islamic Affairs Council said activities are underway to put in place a system that enables to provide efficient services to followers of the Islamic religion.

Council President, Dr. Ahmed Abdurrahman told ENA on Saturday the council will strive to prevent rent-seeking mentality as part of the activities.

Dr. Ahmed said working in collaboration with the government and partner organizations is significant towards the same purpose.
He said efforts will be exerted to contribute towards renaissance of the country.

The President stressed the need to exert integrated efforts to prevent extremism and terrorism as such things are against the Islamic religion and also the development of the country.

Activities to prevent extremism and terrorism should not be left to a single institution alone, Dr. Ahmed said, adding, integrated effort of the public is significant towards the same goal.
