Religious Fathers give Christmas blessings

Addis Ababa, January 7, 2013 (WIC) – Christ’s Birth Day be better celebrated with those who seek aid and care, religious fathers said.Christian Religious fathers gave blessings in connection to X-Mass Celebrations to happen as of Sunday night, 6 January 2013.

His Holiness Abune Natnael, Chief of Ethiopian Orthodox Patriarch Office and Archbishop of Arsi, in his Christmas blessings said Christ’s Birth is for peace of humanity. He encourages Orthodox Tewahido followers to celebrate with the needy.

His Holiness Abune Birhan Iyesus Archbishop of the Ethiopian Catholic Church told ERTA the faithful have the duty to mark the holiday with rich spiritual deeds.

President of Ethiopian Evangelical Church, Pastor Dr. Waqsiyum Adis wished Happy X-Mass and urged followers to share with the needy the love Christ reveals in his birth.

Chairman of Ethiopian Evangelical Churches Union, Pastor Alemu Sheta in his blessings asserted the holiday marks the redemption of humanity.

He encouraged the faithful to restore love and share the celebrations with those who deserve their alms.

According to ERTA, they also lauded their followers for the contribution they have done to the development of their country.
