EPRDF Council to hold its regular meeting as of 8 September 2014

Addis Ababa, 7 September 2014 (WIC) – The Council of the Ethiopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) is to hold its regular session as of Monday September 8, 2014.

 

According to a statement from the Office of EPRDF Council sent to WIC, the Council will assess the government and organizational performances over the past budget year and endorse the plan of this budget year.

 

In its July 2014 assembly, the Executive Committee of the Council evaluated the performances of development and good governance plans, WIC learnt.

 

It also stated that the Executive Committee will present its report to the Council for evaluation.

 

According to the statement, the Council is expected to forward   the focus areas of mobilization in various sectors both in rural and urban.

 

The council will also address the need to mobilize strong developmental arms to realize all the projects set in the Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP) in the final year of the GTP period.

 

The meeting would evaluate activities carried out over the year to bring about rural and urban development, and to ensure good governance, it stated.

 

The council also endorses the strategy and plan of the 5th National Election, which  will be conducting at the end of this budget year.

 

The statement emphasized that the Council  will also discuss not only how to make the election free, faire and democratic but also credible to the Ethiopian people.
