TPLF holds a two day discussion on central committee report

Mekelle, 25 August, 2015(WIC) – Conference Participants of the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) had held a two day discussion on  the central committee’s  report.

Spokesperson and Presidium member of the 12th TPLF Conference Abay Tsehaye told journalists that conference participants have been conducting free and transparent discussions on the drawbacks and strengths of the party.

More time and emphasis was given to issue related to good governance, development and the party’s internal matters, he noted.

Abay said problems tied with the effort to provide quality education and health services and creating effective developmental army were also discussed.

Responses to the questions raised by the participants will be given on tomorrow’s meeting.

The meeting also has consulted on the strength and drawbacks of both the party’s leaders and members, he said. The second Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP-2) and strategies to attain its goals were points of discussion, Abay added.

In accordance with its plan to replace the party’s veteran leaders with capable and young ones, the meeting is expected to be concluded with the election of its leaders via democratic casting of votes
