Ethiopia blends 12.5 million liters of ethanol in the last budget year

Addis Ababa, 10 July, 2015 (WIC)  – Ethiopia has blended 12.5 million liters of ethanol with benzene in the last budget year, ministry of water, irrigation and energy said.

Public Relations Head with the Ministry, Bezuneh Tolecha told WIC that nation saved 10.2 million USD from the consumption of 12.5 million liters of blended ethanol with benzene.

According to Bezuneh, Fincha and Metahara sugar factories currently producing ethanol products in the nation, additional new six sugar factories will began ethanol production in the next budget year.

Ethiopia prepares 10 percents of ethanol with 90 percents of benzene for trucks consumption via Nile Petroleum, Olibya , and NOC (national Oil Company)  Bezuneh said.

The Nation also plans to produce 64 million liters of ethanol in the second GTP period, he said.

Bezuneh added that exffrots have exerted to involve the private sectors in ethanol production.

Ethiopia commenced ethanol production in 2009 GC.
