Ethiopian Muslims colorfully celebrate 1,436 Eid al-Fitr

Addis Ababa, 17 July 2015(WIC) – Ethiopian Muslims have colorfully celebrated Eid al-Fitir at the this morning.

Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council President, Sheikh Mohammedamin Jemal in the occasion said that, Muslims concluded Ramadan in self-restraint, intended to bring the faithful closer to God.

Sheikh Mohammedamin used the opportunity in his speech to call up on the Muslims to strengthen contributions in the development of the country at large within their endeavors.

He also said that public centered preparations in setting the second GTP phase pillars shall be implemented by all might of the people, he said.

The Grand Anwar Mosque Development Projects will be cemented and finalized with all contributions of the Muslim community and other religious faithful, he hopes.

Representative of the Addis Ababa City Administration Mayor, Ephrem Gizaw in his turn said that Muslims’ contribution in combating religious extremism and terrorism is honorable, but there should be more effort to be exerted in every household.

Ephrem is thankful for Addis dwellers in hosting and managing continental and international events in the city in concluding successfully.
