Ethiopia to host 4th Africa-Arab legislators, business summit

Addis Ababa, 24 July 2015 (WIC) – The 4th Africa-Arab legislators and Business Summit on “Investing in Africa Makes Sense” is scheduled to be held in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa from 1-2 August 2015, APA learns here Thursday.

The forum intends to encourage sustainable growth and business integration through enhancing the ongoing engagement of African and Arab business persons and politicians.

The summit will bring together members of the senate and the shoora together to engage in policy debates on how to increase commerce, trade, investment and the existing trade volume between Africa and the Arab world.

The two groups will highlight opportunities in both regions and promote collaboration between business persons and parliamentarians of the Arab region,said Secretary General of the Association of Senates, Shoora and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World.

Arab investors are keen to expand their investment into new markets, including banks, financial institutions, agro-processing, and infrastructure development, among others, in Africa,the Secretary General added.

The event is expected to add fresh impetus to the long-term cooperation between Africa and Arab economies, including moves for an Africa-Arab common market, he revealed. (en.starafrica.com)
