President Says Ethio-Niger Relation Growing

Addis Ababa 07 August 2015 (WIC) – President Mulatu Teshome said the relationship of Ethiopia and Niger has been growing steadily.

The president made the above remark while holding talks with Diallo Amina Djibo, the departing Ambassador of Niger in Ethiopia.

Mulatu appreciated the role the ambassador has played in strengthening the ties between the two countries during her tenure.

According to the president, the all-round relationship of the countries has shown continuous growth.
The resumption of the flight of Ethiopian Airlines to Niamey, the capital of Niger, after a decade is typical manifestation of the growing relation, he pointed out.

Recalling the role Ethiopia has been playing to stabilize neighboring countries; President Mulatu called on Niger and other African countries to exert effort for the stability of the continent.
He added that Ethiopia is committed to further strengthen its ties with Niger.

The departing ambassador said on her part that the relationship of the countries has been improving in many respects during the last few years.

Ambassador Djibo indicated that her country wants to learn from the rapid economic growth of Ethiopia.
She indicated that her country appreciates Ethiopia’s role in restoring peace and stability in the East African region.

The ambassador also expressed her delight that Ethiopia was chosen as the best tourism destination and stated that this would motivate her fellow countrymen to visit Ethiopia.
