Corporation constructs 14, 748 Kms road in 2007

Addis Ababa, 8 September, 2015(WIC) – The Ethiopian Road Construction Corporation says it has constructed 14, 748 Kms long road in different parts of the country during the 2007 budget year.

The corporation, which planned to construct 11, 412 Kms of new roads, maintenance, and interconnect sugar projects,  has accomplished beyond its schedule by constructing more roads in selected 41 towns of the country, Walta learnt from the information sent to it by the corporation.

Road projects with a length of more than 640 Kilometers, interconnecting Maytsebri with Shire, Deghabur to Shekosh, were completed during the last four years with a cost of more than 2.4 billion birr.

The corporation has scheduled to construct more than 14 thousand Kilometers of road during the 2008 budget year. The information states that the road projects interconnecting Zarima to Maytsebri and Chancho to Derba are to be completed during this budget year.

The corporation is undertaking the construction of 5 asphalt road projects with an allocated budget of more than 6.5 billion birr in various areas of the country with difficult terrain.
