Agency plans to collect 20 billion birr via saving during GTP II period

Addis Ababa, 02 October, 2015(WIC) – The Federal Micro and Small Enterprise Development Agency said it has planned to collect 20 billion birr through saving by raising citizen’s awareness on the importance of saving.

The agency’s public relation directorate director, Asefa Ferede, told Walta Information Center that the agency has intended to promote saving by raising the public’s understanding about saving in particular in the coming five years of the second Growth and transformation Plan (GTP II).

The agency underlined that lack adequate saving culture, extravagance during holidays and other adaptations that are not benign to saving should be prevented if the public should improve its saving.

“Since jobs to citizens should come primarily from the wealth created by the society itself, the agency will make efforts to enable the society increase their amount of saving from time to time,” said the director.

The agency plans to widen its reach by creating eight million more jobs to citizens and to attain this goal it has to collect 20 billion birr during the stated period.
