Bedele warmly welcomes guests heading to Gambella

Bedele, 07 December 2015 (WIC) – The administration and people of Bedele town of the Oromiya Regional state has warmly welcomed guests heading to Gambella region to celebrate the 10th Nations, Nationalities and People’s Day.

Speaker of the Woreda Council, Zertihun Birhanu, said that the town administration and its residents have been receiving and sending guests heading to Gambella in a warm way via making preparations prior to their arrival.

Zertihun noted that the constitution has created a fertile ground for the nations, nationalities and peoples of Ethiopia to mutually coexist and strive for the development of their country. Thus, people are heading to Gambella to celebrate the day up on which the foundation for their coexistence is laid, she told Walta.

The Speaker also told Walta that guests coming from the eight regional states and two city administrations of the country are passing through the town and this creates an opportunity for them to further know the people area and strengthen mutual relations, she added.

Head of Bedele Town Communication Affairs, Leyikun Tekalign, on his part said that the development being registered in the town is the fruit of the values the constitution. He said that the coming together of people from all over the country and all walks of life creates an opportunity to showcase the town’s development and overall engagement.

Leyikun also called up on the media to show to the general public the developmental engagements they have witnessed on their way to Gambella.

According to the communication affairs head, the town will have a fertilizer factory, railway and tertiary education institution during the implementation course of the second Growth and Transformation Plan, (GTP II). Such developmental undertakings will further fuel the growth of the town, he said.

Guests representing the eight regional states and two city administrations of the country are currently entering Gambella in order to celebrate the day on December 09 for the 10th time.
