Ethiopia, Israel need to join hands to fight terrorism: Netanyahu

 As Ethiopia and Israel have continued to face the challenges of terrorism, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged the need to join hands in rolling back the adverse effects of terrorist activities.

 PM Netanyahu said the two countries are obliged to jointly fight terrorism to ensure the development of human civilization globally.

 The Israeli PM made the remark while welcoming the Ethiopian high-level delegation led by Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn on Tuesday in Jerusalem.

 Netanyahu on the occasion noted that Ethiopia has an unwavering stand in fighting terrorism, particularly in fighting the Al-Qaeda affiliated terrorist group, Al-Shebaab.

 Prime Minister Netanyahu stressed on the need for a relentless struggle against the inhuman and barbaric atrocities of terrorist organizations in all corners of the world.

 In his speech, Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam agreed on the need to join hands to successfully fight terrorism.

 Noting that extremism is a threat to the world, Hailemariam underlined the importance for Ethiopia and Israel to strengthen cooperation in this regard.

 Hailemariam appreciated Israel’s focus on Africa saying it is both useful and constructive to promote mutual beneficiary relations with African countries. He added that Ethiopia will keep up to its expectations in this regard.

 According to Special Advisor to the PM, Ewnetu Blata, the two countries have improved the level of their partnership to a strategic level.

 The consensus reached among the leaders to jointly work in the fight against terrorism displays this fact, he added.

 The two countries have also signed two agreements in the agriculture sector. (ENA)
