Ethiopia proposed Neway Gebreab for the post of Commissioner of Economic Affairs of the African Union Commission (AUC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Neway has served in different government positions including as Chief Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia until last year.
Prior to this Neway has served as special economic advisor to the President of Ethiopia during the Transitional Government.
Neway has received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star award in 2016 from the government of Japan for his contribution in introducing kaizen to Ethiopia.(ENA)
