SNNPR Provides vocational training for 2265 street dwellers

The South Nations, Nationalities and People’s Region, in collaboration with Elshaday Relief and Development Association, Training and Rehabilitation Center, has provided various vocational trainings for about 2265 youth who were dwelling in streets.

The Graduation ceremony of the trainees was attended by different government officials from the regional and federal government.

The trainees have received a six-month long training in about 10 vocational categories.

The effort to rehabilitate such sections of the society is vital in the effort to fight poverty from the grass root level and enable all sections of the society contribute their share in the development of the country.

 The graduates are trained in Chicken Farming, animal fattening, carpentry, building construction and electric line installation.

More than 19 governmental and non-governmental bodies are working in such a coordinated manner to create job opportunities for the trainees.
