Private Medias lack adequate information delivery – GCAO

The Government Communication Affairs Office (GCAO) said that private media are not delivering adequate information to the public as per the expectaion.

Minister Negere Lencho, during the discussion targeted to maximize the media's role in building democracy, at United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) headquarters held yesterday said that government has organized different forums in order to modernize and enhance public and private media institutions.

It was noted that private media has limited opportunity to receive information from governmental leadership as per the interest of the media which is considered as one of the obstacles.

Participants from public and private media have discussed ways to bridge the gaps and deliver updated information that helps to promote the development and democratic endeavors of the country.

Walta has learnt that participants have also discussed about the challenges and resolutions  backed by research papers.
