The Addis Ababa police commission says it has finalized all the necessary preparations to peacefully celebrate the new year holiday in Addis Ababa city.
Public Relations head with the Commission, Commander Fasika Fenta told WMC that the Addis Ababa police commission has completed its joint preparation with other security bodies to peacefully celebrate the new year holiday.
According to Commander Fasika, the commission is ready to deploy additional police force in order consolidate its crime preventions and traffic management system operations beginning from the eve of the new year holiday.
The Commission is also prepared to conduct strictly control marketing areas and public squares to ease the traffic flows in different congested parts of the Addis Ababa city with the support of police vehicles and traffic motors, the Commander indicated.
Commander Fasika noted that the commission is undertaking crime prevention activities with the a great support public participation. People selected for voluntary service are expected to involve in the police anti-crime activities during the celebration of the holiday, he reiterated.
The commander urged the public to call the free number 991 or 110111 for any kind of problem related with the upcoming eve and holiday of the new year celebration.
