Sudanese president gives highest military award to general Samor

Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir gave a highest military award for General Samora Yenus of Ethiopian Chief of Staff of National Defense Forces for his contribution in creating peace and stability in the horn of Africa.

After receiving the award, General Samora said that the award is a credit to multi-faceted achievements of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces.

 “We feel a great pride in receiving this highest military award from Sudan. The award we received to recognize for achievements gained both at home an in horn of Africa region,” the general said.

He also said the award is admiration of Ethiopian government and military for its capacity and quality extended by the Sudanese government.

The contribution of the military for peace will continue,  he added.

According to him,  the defense force has to work for peace and stability in the region so that the country will achieve its development goals.

Ethiopia stood first from the world by sending over 10000 soldiers to different disputable areas including Abyi region, a region contested by Sudan and South Sudan.

The military still carrying out peacekeeping mission in Somalia, South Sudan and Darfur.
