Gov’t urges citizens to act with sense of ownership to overcome challenges

Ethiopians were urged today to act with sense of ownership and be part of the solution to problems arising in the country in addition to the efforts the government has been exerting to solve them.

A weekly communiqué issued by the Government Office of Communication Affairs stated that the country can develop and overcome challenges through the participation of all citizens.

According to the communiqué, the government is in a much better position to tackle problems ranging from conflicts to drought and youth unemployment.

Among the achievements, the office cited the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and the ability to withstand drought.

The communiqué also joined PM Hailemariam in applauding the efforts of the traditional Abba Geda leaders, religious fathers, elders and intellectuals to solve the border conflicts in some parts of Oromia and Somalli regional states.

It further pointed out that a lot remains to be done in tackling youth unemployment which stands at 6 million at present. (ENA)
