Ethiopia, Norway sign health agreement on heel of Prince visit

The government of Ethiopia and Norway signed an agreement Today at Alert Hospital, which help the former develop vaccines against most threating pandemic disease faced by the world.

 State Minister of Ethiopian Ministry of Health, Dr. Kebede Worku and Dr. Tore Godal, Special envoy to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway signed the agreement on the heel of the Norwegian Crown Prince Magnus official visit to Ethiopia.

Dr.kebede said that the cooperation agreement will help the country  develop a vaccine to treat against pandemic disease and carryout research in the field of health.

“The cooperation our country has with Norway will help us produce vaccine and build our capcity in the health sector, among many engagements,” he said.

According to him, the Norway has been extending considerable financial support beyond the basic technical and knowhow development venture.

Dr. Tore Godal on his part said that Norway will continue extending technical support for the Ethiopian health sector.

He said that the agreement in health sector is believed to fill the gaps of knowhow.

Dated back some 70 years ago, the relation the two countries have is getting stronger through time.
