TPLF removes chairman, demotes executive members to central committee

The Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) indicated that it has removed its chairman, Abay Woldu, and other executive committee members and ordered them to serve at central committee level.

The chairman is demoted from the executive committee to the central committee membership. The front also suspended Azeb Mesfin from the executive and central committee membership.

The front, in its statement released on the ongoing deep reform, also indicated that another executive committee member, Beyene Mikru, is demoted to the central committee membership status.

The Central committee also warned two members of the executive committee and the front also indicated that the deep reform is in continuation.

TPLF indicated that it is deeply evaluating current political, economic affairs in the country and is considering possible way outs from the drawbacks and paving the ways to better democratic and economic leap forward.
