Area 1 command post, deployed to Addis and the outskirt areas, has urged the people in the capital and surrounding to contribute their share in the effort to ensure peace and security.
The area 1 command post, deployed in 14 sub-areas of the city and surroundings, is responsible to look after Addis Ababa, Finfine Special Zone, West Showa, North Showa, North-west Showa, East Showa zone and includes the towns of Ambo, Fiche, Woliso, Bishoftu and Modjo within these zones.
The members of defense force, federal police, and senior officers of Addis Ababa and Oromia police have received details on the implementation of the state of emergency in the stated areas, according to the statement released from the area 1 command post.
The command post is aimed at ensuring safety, peace and security of the people, the statement noted.
The statement urged all people to stand with the command post and ensure stability until the violent scenarios are abated successfully and calm returns to the areas.
