Heads of States and Governments Congratulate EPRDF

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that heads of states and governments have continued to send congratulatory messages to the EPRDF upon electing the new Chairman of the Front in a fully democratic manner.

The leaders acknowledged that the way in which the Front elected its chairman would help to create a favorable condition for facilitating the foreign relations and diplomatic activities of the country.

In his weekly briefing to local journalists, the Spokesperson of the Ministry, Melese Alem said that heads of states and governments had congratulated the EPRDF Council, the government and peoples of Ethiopia for electing the chairman of the Front in democratic, fair and transparent manner.

Furthermore, President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and Chairperson of the African Union, Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and a number of leaders and Foreign Ministers of the neighboring countries had sent their congratulatory messages, the Spokesperson unveiled.

Melese added that the leaders noted that the fact that EPRDF has managed to elects its chairman demonstrates vibrant capacity of the country to resolve its problems by itself.

The Spokesperson expressed his heartfelt felicitations and gratitude to foreign governments for supporting Ethiopia in the advent of the recent temporary instability in the country
