Ethiopia acquits 62 criminal charges

The Federal Attorney General has acquitted 62 criminal offense cases filed in three separate cases.

The Attorney General has originally filed court cases against the suspects for violating articles 464 and 494 of the criminal code.

In the first file there are 18 suspects who were found guilty of criminal offense pursuant to the articles mentioned above, which the Attorney General has dropped all.

According to ENA, in the lawsuit filed on 38 suspects in a separate file, the cases of 26 suspects who were accused of trespassing the same articles of the criminal code were dropped.

However, the cases of four suspects who were ordered to defend themselves on manslaughter will proceed with the due process of law at the court.

Similarly, the criminal case filed against 18 suspects in a separate file for violating the same articles was also dropped.
